A systematic review of Cardiovascular Rehabilitation guidance documents: assessing components and methodologies

Ariany Marques Vieira is a physiotherapist, graduated in 2017 by the University of Santa Catarina State – UDESC, Florianopolis – BR, with an exchange period at the University of Toronto, Toronto – CA. Ariany has a Master in Physiotherapy with emphasis on assessment and intervention on cardiopulmonary physiotherapy – UDESC. Currently she is a PhD student in Health and Exercise Science at Concordia University, Montreal – CA, where she is part of the Montreal Behavioural Medicine Centre and of the META Group. Her research interests include cardiovascular rehabilitation, physical exercise on cardiopulmonary diseases and evidence summaries methodology.

User experiences with a pilot text messaging intervention aimed to support patients with acute coronary syndrome after discharge

Emily S. Ross is a PhD candidate at Simon Fraser University. Her research, under the supervision of Dr. Scott Lear, explores how information and communication technology can be used to support patients with cardiovascular disease. For her PhD work, she has surveyed patients about their willingness to use technology for health purposes. She has also conducted a mixed methods pilot randomized controlled trial that evaluates whether a text-messaging program can support patients with acute coronary syndrome after their discharge from the hospital.

Assessing the Psychological Processes Impacted by a Technology-Assisted Weight Loss Maintenance Program (NULevel Trial)

Keven Joyal-Desmarais is a PhD candidate in psychology at the University of Minnesota. His research focuses on how psychological and motivational forces can be used to encourage positive behaviours in society. This includes the promotion of health-related behaviours (e.g., vaccination, exercise), prosocial behaviours (e.g., volunteerism, philanthropy), and healthy relationships (e.g., between romantic partners), while also seeking to reduce negative behaviours (e.g., aggression, discrimination, risky sexual behaviours). Through his research, he has been the recipient of many awards and honours. Additionally, Keven is a member and administrative assistant for the Center for the Study of the Individual and Society, a group devoted to understanding why and how people become involved in activities that benefit others and society. He is also an active member of HPV Awareness, a non-profit organization that promotes sexual health and healthy relationships throughout Canada.
